Why Small Groups Exist

Small groups were designed to lead people to maturity in Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through bible study, prayer, and spiritually encouraging relationships. God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we achieve spiritual maturity in Jesus Christ. Sharing life through community is part of our design, that’s why small groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you. Individuals are given the opportunity to use their spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ together. Small groups have one goal in mind: to bring people together and mature in Christ.

Colossians 1:28
We proclaim Him admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.
Acts 2:42–47

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Ecclesiastes 4:7–10, 12

I observed yet another example of something meaningless under the sun. This is the case of a man who is all alone…Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
